Founder & Managing Partner, Andrea J. Shaw Named To Chatelaine And Profit Magazine's W100 2014

September 18, 2014 – Chatelaine and PROFIT Magazine’s 2014 W100 rankings for top Canadian female entrepreneurs released today listed TwentyTen Corp. Founder & Managing Partner Andrea Shaw at number 23 – among an incredibly strong field of contenders. With just three financial years under her belt, Shaw’s vision to elevate the sponsorship marketing industry in Canada is well on its way to fruition, with her group of companies showcasing a rate of growth of 193% and revenues exceeding all expectations.

Shaw found the sweet spot between her passion for sport, marketing, entrepreneurship and values-based leadership when she set out to launch the first agency in her group of companies in June of 2010. As the former Vice President of Sponsorship Sales and Marketing for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), Shaw and her team developed a revolutionary model that secured over $760 million in domestic sponsorship, in the face of a major economic downturn. Building on this new approach to sponsorship, Shaw selected a handful of her star teammates and set out to create what is today considered Canada’s leading sponsorship sales agency, the TwentyTen Group, and in early 2014 launched sister agency TORQUE Strategies.

The road to this success was not without its peaks and valleys, however (as acknowledged by PROFIT’s Lessons from 10 Comeback Kids). In the early days of TwentyTen Corp.’s existence, Shaw was faced with one of the most daunting challenges of her life. Just months after launching the agency, Andrea was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. In that moment she recognized she had two options, close the doors and cut her losses – or face it head on, charging forth with the belief that she can conquer anything. Without hesitation, Andrea chose the latter, announcing to her friends, family and team, “… the bad news is, I have cancer. But the good news is, cancer does not have me.” Today Andrea takes on every single day with the marquee passion, energy and fire she is known for, celebrating over three years in the clear – cancer free.
